Market Trend Brief
A grounded market-trend brief — what's adopting, what's declining, where intent and reviews agree the market is heading — for the next launch or analyst conversation.
Where the market's heading — when adoption, intent, and reviews agree
Adoption up, intent up, reviews want
'unified.' The trend is consolidation.
| Signal | Direction |
|---|---|
| Adoption | Consolidating |
| Intent | Rising on 'unified' |
| Reviews | Want fewer tools |
Overview
Produce a market-trend brief for a category combining adoption footprint (aggregate across a peer cohort) (technographic time series), demand signals (intent), and buyer sentiment (reviews) — triangulating where the market is genuinely heading so PMM can ground a launch narrative or analyst conversation in data.
Use cases
Launch narratives that hold up
A launch story grounded in three agreeing signals — adoption, intent, sentiment — survives the skeptical questions a single data point invites.
Analyst conversations with evidence
Walking into an analyst briefing with a triangulated trend read, each signal cited, positions PMM as the team that understands the market — not just its own product.

# Market Trend Brief
## Parameters
- `{{category}}` *(required)* — The category/market to brief. Example: `data observability`
- `{{audience}}` *(optional)* — Who the brief is for (shapes the framing). Example: `analyst briefing`
## Purpose
Produce a market-trend brief on the {{category}} for the {{audience}}, triangulating adoption footprint (aggregate across a peer cohort), demand intent, and buyer sentiment — so the launch or analyst narrative is grounded in three independent signals agreeing, not one anecdote.
## Process
1. **Adoption trajectory** — `company_technographic` for the category's key technologies; is the market growing, consolidating, or fragmenting?
2. **Demand signal** — `list_intent_topics` + `intent_category` for the category's intent volume and trend.
3. **Buyer sentiment** — `get_product_reviews` for the recurring themes (what buyers increasingly want or reject).
4. **Triangulate** — where the three signals agree is the high-confidence trend; where they diverge, note the tension.
5. **Brief** — write a tight, exec-grade trend narrative with the implication for our positioning, labeling modeled vs. observed signals.
## Output Format
Markdown with:
- `# Market Trend Brief — {{category}}`
- `## Adoption Trajectory` (cited)
- `## Demand Signal` (intent trend)
- `## Buyer Sentiment` (review themes)
- `## The Trend` (where the signals agree)
- `## Implication` (for our positioning)
- `## Citations`
## Quality Checklist
- Each signal source cited (time series, intent, reviews)
- The high-confidence trend is where signals agree, stated as such
- Modeled vs. observed labeling applied
- Prose is exec-grade, not a data dump
